Rara Lake
Rara Lake is the largest lake of Nepal which length is 5km and width 3km and depth of 167 m. It is extended up to 10.8 sq km with an oval shape. The three endemic fish species, Nepalese snow trout rara snow trout and one endemic frog are aquatic inhibitants.
Winter visitor water birds such as Gadwall, Mallard, Northern Shoveler common Teal, Tufted duck, common Golden eye etc. Lake is 167m deep at smoke places and drain into the rivers Mugu Karnali Niguli Khola. Chuchemara hill at 4039m is the best vantage point to get the magnificent views of deep, blue circular lake and the forested hills as well as snow clapped beak around it.
Beauty of rara lake is polished by blue clear sky, sorroundings flora and fauna, different type of vegetation, migrated birds of cyprus etc. Murma top, Chuchemara himal, Kanjirowa himal, Chayanath himal, view of Dolpa, Humla, Jumla, Khaptad, Api, Saipal, add beauty to its surroundings.
